Munlake Contractors, Inc. began in 1967 as a general contractor in the church remodeling business. The growth that took place in those first years soon added work in the Industrial market with companies like Proctor and Gamble, Kenworth-Dart and others. The company's employee base and financial capability grew and it expanded into restaurant and school construction.
We performed more than two hundred projects with the then fledging Pizza Hut organization and developed our expertise in the Construction Management field. These changes required that the company begin the practice of traveling. One division of the company spent a few years of heavy construction performing a number of projects for the United States Army Corps of engineers. Though the company elected to close out the heavy construction division, the supervision, management and ownership have not lost the expertise gained in those years.
Munlake soon learned that the only reasonable way to be successful and create a steady repeat customer base was to do top notch work and do so using a "Fast Track" method of construction. A significant investment in computers and project management team began in the early 1970's in an effort to facilitate both high quality control and to make "Fast Track" construction our routine.
The company began to take on an expanded footprint and increased its practice of traveling as the second generation of the Mundy family made their presence known. Hotel construction was one of the first areas that developed, followed shortly by a significant presence in the petroleum construction. Organizations like Pilot Travel Centers, Travel America and Flying J required a "Fast Track" construction service with a high level of expertise. Both of these features were existing mainstays in the Munlake philosophy, so the company grew again. Strip center work and tenant finish filled out those middle years of development.
We are qualified to work in any of the continental 48 states.
